SEMINAR - THE ITALIAN OCCUPATION IN THE BALKANS 1941-1943
(objectives)
In the seminar the Italian military occupations in the Balkans will be analysed in the light of the advances in Italian historiography. Some of the monographs of the last twenty years will be compared with the classics of international historiography. Within the new Mediterranean order of Fascism, the military experiences in the Balkans present "economic characteristics" useful for a comparison with other European realities. Some responses will be given on the characteristics of the new order from a political, economic, social and military point of view, showing how some military choices in the areas of occupation represented the logical priority of Italian anti-partisan repression. To analyse this aspect, particular attention will be paid to the cases of Slovenia and Greece
