PHYSICAL CHEMISTRY FOR THE LIFE SCIENCE
(objectives)
The course covers the key concepts of the principal topics in Chemical Physics: thermodynamics, kinetics and quantum mechanics. These three topics cover whether or not reactions occur, how fast they go and what is actually going on at the sub-atomic scale, and will be all applied to biological problems. Students should also attain laboratory skills in spectroscopic techniques (UV-vis, FT-IR, XPS) commonly applied to the investigation of biomolecules.
