(syllabus)
The aim of the class is to give an overview of the more relevant issues of film and media aesthetics. In particular, the class will be focused on both historically relevant perspective and more recent topics and methodologies. The program will be articulated around two main stages. In the first one, the main approaches to film and media aesthetics will be considered. In the second one, 20th-century film and media aesthetics will be compared with the works of Stanley Kubrick.
