CARLETTI CRISTIANA
(syllabus)
In 2020 the United Nations system will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration and Platform for Action on Gender Rights and, in this process, since 2019 Member States have worked to present their national reviews, explaining the results achieved and the gaps and limitations found in the promotion and protection of gender rights in terms of legislative measures, policies, planning, financial resources. This exercise is instrumental for a comparative analysis carried out at regional level (second half of 2019, for the European area) and for a technical and political deepening of the issue both at the annual session of the Commission on the Status of Women (March 2020) and in the context of the high-level segment of the annual session of the General Assembly (September 2020) - where the Secretary General will present his own report on Beijing +25.
