General information about course aims, contents & exams • LANGUAGE: ACHIEVEMENT OF B2 LEVEL. DEVELOPMENT OF: • A) KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE MAIN FEATURES OF THE FOREIGN LANGUAGE; • B) ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE IDEAS, INFORMATION AND INTENTIONS. COMPREHENSION OF WRITTEN TEXTS ON THE BASIS OF ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE. BASIC AUTONOMOUS LEARNING SKILLS • LANGUAGE IMPROVEMENT CLASSES: READING, WRITING, LISTENING AND SPEAKING ACTIVITIES AT B2 LEVEL • STUDENTS ARE STRONGLY ADVISED TO ATTEND CLASSES. THOSE WHO CANNOT ATTEND THEM ARE REQUESTED TO MEET THE COURSE TEACHER AT THE BEGINNING OF THE ACADEMIC YEAR. • LECTURES: WRITTEN TEXT ANALYSIS. DEFINITION OF WORD AND OF MEANING. DENOTATION AND CONNOTATION. COHESION, COHERENCE, CO-TEST, CONTEXT, TEXT- TYPES, ADVERTISEMENTS, ROLE OF ADDRESSEES. MAIN DIFFERENCES BETWEEN WRITTEN AND SPOKEN TEXTS • EXAMS: STUDENTS MUST PASS THEIR B2 LANGUAGE TESTS BEFORE DOING THIS EXAM. STUDENTS WILL BE AWARDED 12 ECTS ONLY ON COMPLETING ALL ACTIVITIES
