PIPPA SALVADOR
(syllabus)
The laboratory aims to strengthen the students' skills in literary analysis of Portuguese texts. A series of lectures will be devoted to general questions related to literary translation and to the specificity of literary texts from culturally non-hegemonic areas. A second cycle of lessons will be dedicated to the analysis of the novel “O Primo Basílio” by the Portuguese novelist Eça de Queirós and its Italian translations. During the course of the exercises, students will have to put the acquired skills into practice, analysing and translating passages from the work of Vasco themselves.
