(syllabus)
since the time of conquest and colonization the theme of the encounter with the Other has given a series of representations of the new continent that have fixed images and stereotypes. The issue, that has become a canon of contemporary Spanish-American literature, will be analyzed through selected passages from the XV and XVI century Chronachistica and through the fiction of the XX century.
