The course aims to explore the different manifestations of the tragic in Spanish theater through the analysis of some representative texts of the genre included in a wide temporal, cultural and literary horizon that goes from the 'baroque nueva' comedy to the 50s of the XX century . Basic elements of analysis of the theatrical text will be provided in its relationship with literature and representation.
The course will consist of 30 hours of lectures and 6 hours of assisted teaching activity, the calendar of which will be provided by the lecturer in class and inserted in her own teaching site.

The program aims to introduce students to the theatrical phenomenon in the Spain of Siglo de Oro, through the reading, commentary and dramaturgical analysis of three canonical texts by Lope de Vega and Calderón de la Barca.
