(syllabus)
Aimed at promoting dialogue and interaction while enhancing analytical and translation skills, the second year course is founded on the theoretical and practical notions acquired in the 2018-19 1st year English Language and Translation LM course, i.e.: evolution of Translation Studies as a discipline, theories of translation, key issues in translation practice, critical analysis of English-language literary texts; translation practice. Within this framework, the course aims to further develop conceptual and practical skills, combining text analysis and translation and specifically focusing on the following issues: methodological approaches to drama analysis; evaluation of text-production and text-reception conditions, both in a synchronic and diachronic perspective; linguistic and cultural problems related to text adaptation and appropriation; dramatic and theatrical translation.

Students will be provided with case studies and readings for discussions. All materials produced during class and additional readings will be made available via the Moodle Platform (protected area dedicated to the course) at the end of each session.
