(syllabus)
The aim of the course is to provide information and interpretation keys for the analysis of family structures and their transformation processes in contemporary society. Therefore it is presented and discussed how gender relations and between generations are defined in the family context, how parental networks are constructed and how social capital is produced. The role of the family as an active subject in the processes of socialization is then addressed. An in-depth study of the topics covered in the course concerns the analysis of the family's potential as a resource for social policies, taking into consideration the couple and the peculiarities that characterize their vulnerability and social generativity. A part of the program is dedicated to issues related to early childhood.
