(syllabus)
On completion of the course, students should be able to:
1. Compare and contrast organized crime all over the world 2. Assess mafia’s business side: how money are made and on money laundering 3. Reflect on how organized crime can influence the economic and institutional life in many part of the world 4. Describe and discuss money laundering and anti‐money laundering techniques 5. Organize information on the all‐powerful Italian organized crime, focusing on history, evolution and globalization of business empires, environmental organized crime, and reflect on organized crime as local solution to global competition 6. Examine the efficacy and effectiveness of social entrepreneurship and good governance as a response to economic crisis (case studies) and of active citizenship and transparent information as tools for change, even in territories affected heavily by organized crime 7. Reflect on the color of money
