Aim of the course is providing instruments and methods to analyse spoken Chinese through authentic data drawn from corpora and audio-visual material. After the description of
the key notions related to pragmatics, discourse analysis and corpus linguistics, spoken language will be investigated with particular attention to phenomena such as the usage of discourse markers and the syntactical and lexical devices employed to express specific speech acts.
