The CINEMA OF MARCO FERRERI Program: We intend to investigate the path and works of an author who is still undervalued as Marco Ferreri: from the Spanish debut, between neorealism and “esperpento”, to the "postmodern" works of the Eighties-Nineties. The forms of representation and narration, the "catalog" of images, bodies, masks and places are examined. We focus in particular on the phenomenology of the grotesque body and on the dynamics between malewood and femalewood. Ferreri's anthropological research and social criticism between Spain, Italy, France, the USA and Africa are highlighted. We describe his working method and his relationship with actors. The films and their critical reception are analyzed in detail.
