Course programme The course is divided into two parts: • The first part, preliminary to the mid-term evaluation exoneration, will focus on the theoretical of different topics. Starting from social security as a complex concept to the main theoretical reference models for social service will be addressed. The focus will concentrate on: social policies between the national and local dimensions of welfare state, and social service tools in relation to different professional areas. Furthermore, the main organizational / management models used to respond to individual and collective needs will be a key subject, through the enhancement of the local context and the promotion of local welfare. • The second part, based on the theoretical-practical perspective, is on shared learning through individual and work group that will be evaluated at the end of the course. The professional experiences and already held skills in students represents one of the main characteristics of the course. In-depth seminars will be organized.
Course goals and aims First of all, the course provides the theoretical-interpretative tools necessary for the understanding of some social aspects relevant to the profession of social worker. Then, the course make the students to get the ability to practically apply the theoretical acquired skills, translating them into an action / social service project.
