II part of the course of GREEK LITERATURE Title of the course: The fall of Athens and the Utupia of the Comedy: Aristophanes's Frogs.
Athens is falling, his power is completed destroyed. What could promise the comic poet in his utopia to the his theatrical public? What ould now save the city? The Aristophanes Frogs tell us something about this crical historical period

Bibliography of the second part of the course: A good knowledge of Euripide's dramatic proiduction and notions of ancient dramaturgy are required. The following texts are recommended: - E. Medda- V. Di Benedetto, La tragedia sulla scena, Torino 1997, Einaudi - E V. Di Benedetto, Euripide: teatro e società, Torino Einaudi 1971.
With regards to the text of Euripides, students can choose any edition provided with translation; the one by J. Diggle, Oxford Classical Texts, tomo III, 1994 is recommended.
