(syllabus)
This course’s learning objectives are the following: 1) to acquire the fundamental notions concerning the historical and educational landscape of the History of Italian school since post Unity to the present 2) to acquire the fundamental principles concerning the History of teachers in Italian schools since the Unity to the present 3) Learning about scholarships on the “Active school” by reading a classic by John Dewey and, at the same time, analysing an active school experiment performed in Italy in the 1920s. 4) to understand the difference between history of institutions and total history, an historiographic paradigm developed by the annalistic school
