(syllabus)
The course has the general objective of describing the main methodological research lines in education and to facilitate the knowledge about building and use of the main tools useful to collect data. Specific objectives carried out during the course are the following: - reflect on the main characteristics of the educational lexicon; - define the main methodological approaches in educational research; - design and project hypotheses in educational research - reflect on changes which have an impact on assessment research - classify evaluation tools, useful to carry out research in educational settings; - define the relationship between teaching and learning and assessment; - identify assessment elements and functions - build objective tests - analyse data collected through assessment tests; - revise different test types The course is structured in the following way: a theoretical course an online workshop The final exam is an evaluation of all the parts of the course. The first session useful to do the exam is the winter session. The course main objective is to illustrate and define the main lines of educational research and to provide the principal evaluation tools. Course lessons are organized through an operative way, providing exercises linked to different disciplines and using new technologies. The online workshop is related to J. J. Rousseau’s “Emile, or On Education”.and it is accessible at the online platform orbisdictus.it Details for registration will be given in class at the beginning of the course.
