NARDI EMMA
(syllabus)
The course aims to address dynamically and systemically the three broad themes proposed by the title, starting from a problem – the decrease of the ability of reading comprehension in the adult population – which is pivotal in the international research on education.
Course structure • Basic theory course (attendance recommended); • Distance activity 1 "Research methodology" (mandatory activity for all) • Distance activity 2 "Museum as an educational tool" (mandatory activity for all)
During the basic theory course students will learn to use the experimental method in an education context. In order to make the course more effective, part of the lectures will be taken place in Corsini National Gallery. Important information: students are asked to communicate their intention to attend the basic theory course by sending an email to lab.pedagogia.sperimentale@uniroma3.it. To allow those students who may be interested in acquiring knowledge of this area also in English, part of the classes will take place using materials in that language. In particular, an Italian/English textbook will be adopted. The distance activities are articulated in 5 didactic units each. Each didactic unit, which comprises study and exercise materials, ends with formative evaluation tests that the students can self-administer, receiving an instant message correcting any mistake.
Schedule The basic theory course will start the 5th of March 2018, on Monday at the National Gallery Corsini (Via della Lungara) and on Thursday at the Department of Education (Via Milazzo 11 b) March: 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, 26, 27; April: 2, 3, 16, 17; May: 7, 8, 14, 15.
