The course first part will be focused on a detailed account on the roles played by translators today. Students will acquire full awareness of what translation is and what are the (inter)cultural skills required for the translation of any text.The second part will aim at the acquisition of theoretical tools to be used in the translation practice. Theory will always be accompanied by practice in order to foster text analysis competences and enhance the acquisition of translation skills.
An excellent knowledge of Italian is required for the translation of texts from English into Italian.
