Latin epigraphy
Title of the course: "Rome and the Roman world: an epigraphic culture"
No culture has celebrated and exposed the written word as the Greek Roman culture did. The course aims to introduce students to the study of the epigraphic framework in Latin Language in the Roman world, from its origin to the fall of West Roman empire. Original inscription will be shown and analysed according to the criteria of a scientific edition, with special regard for their historical, social and topographic context.
