ZAGARRIO VITO
(syllabus)
The module analyzes the staging, style, and autorial dynamics of Italian cinema from Neorealism to the so-called "New-New Italian Cinema".
The course therefore addresses the scenario of modern and contemporary Italian film, investigating genres (including the old and new Italian comedy), direction, language and grammar, combining the technical and aesthetic approach. Through a review of the history of Italian cinema, the course offers a theoretical tool on how to do "movie analysis".
The course also includes the presence of some guests, who will testify the validity of the "New Italian Cinema", also during the Conference of the Department of Philosophy Communication and Entertainment dedicated to Italian Cinema (28-29 November 2017)
