Teacher	CONA ALESSANDRA (syllabus) Thermodynamics in biological systems. First and second law of thermodynamics. The spontaneity of chemical reactions and the implications in cellular metabolism. The water potential in plants. The turgor pressure and the chemical-physical properties of the plant cell wall. Standard reduction potential. Redox reactions in energy metabolism. Transformation of light energy into chemical energy by photosynthesis.
