1. ELECTRICITY: ELECTRICAL PHENOMENA, CHARGE AND COULOMB'S LAW, CHARGE DISTRIBUTIONS AND DIPOLES. 2. MAGNETISM: ELECTRICAL CURRENT, MAGNETIC PHENOMENA, AMPÈRE'S AND BIOT-SAVART'S LAW 3. ELETTROMAGNETISMO: FARADAY-LENS'S LAW, EDDY CURRENTS. MAXWELL'S EQUATIONS AND WAVE EQUATION. 4. WAVE OPTICS: ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVES, OTTICA ONDULATORIA: ONDE ELETTROMAGENTICHE, LIMIT OF GEOMETRICAL OPTICS, POLARISATION AND ELICITY, INTERFERENCE, DIFFRACTION. 5. APPLICATIONS: WAVEFRONT SENSORS, OPTICAL COHERENCE TOMOGRAPHY AND SHORT PULSES.
THERE ARE FOUR LAB ACTIVITIES COMPLETING THIS COURSE. THEIR ATTENDANCE IS COMPULSORY, BUT A SINGLE ABSENCE IS GRACIOUSLY ALLOWED; ATTENDANCE TO FRONTAL LECTURES IS LEFT TO THE STUDENT'S KEENNESS, INSTEAD. THESE ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING EXPERIMENTAL TECHNIQUES AND DATA ANALYSIS PROCEDURES, FORM PART OF THIS PROGRAMME.
