(syllabus)
The course encloses two sections: the first one aims to provide a historical-cultural framework of the Arabic literary renessaince; the second part is specifically devoted to the discussion of the main actors in Modern and Contemporary Arabic literature. Classes will have the goal to give students an introduction to the main literary movements in Modern and Contemporary Arabic literature, with a reference to Classical literature, in the framework of the historical-cultural evolution of the Arabic-Islamic world.
