(syllabus)
The course aims to develop a greater autonomy in the translating practice, consolidating the intercultural and transcultural competences used to used to realize translating choices efficiently and with awareness. It is also proposed to lead the reflection in a contrastive way considering the peculiarity of the Spanish language, studying particularly the diaphasic variety. The course consists of 36 hours which will be organized according to an interactive didactic model by which the student should: • Experiment the lexicographic resources and the adequate concordance programs to run the translating choices; • Analyze the results of the translating choices according to different textual typologies; • Realize translating and mediation exercises. The translating practice will be supported by a discussion about methodological problems throughout a reflection on the translation as linguistic- cultural mediation and about its specific implications.
