I teaching units Introductory concepts: Technology and its meaning. Evolution of technology and economic evolution. Inventions and their origin. Technological innovation and its consequences in the employment, environmental and economic fields.
II teaching unit Types of production processes: material flow. Product, process and industrial network. Own production (make) or purchase (buy): horizontal or vertical integration. Automation and its evolution Technology and organization of work: forms of corporate organization, systems of coordination and control of the corporate organization, organization and business strategies.
III teaching unit Production management: planning, programming, control. Comparison between western and eastern systems: pull and push logic compared.
IV teaching unit Quality and its control (notes): Quality management (control graphics and modern applications). Total quality and overall quality. Quality economics and costs.
