DI BLASE ANTONIETTA
(syllabus)
The increasing cross-border private-law relationships and disputes has resulted in a radical change in the traditional system of private international law. In the progress of time, a considerable number of international treaties and European Union Regulations introduced new rules that replaced conflict rules of purely national origin. This trend towards an ‘internationalization’ is aimed at building uniform conflict of law rules and a common system of rules on jurisdiction, mutual recognition and enforcement of judgments and decisions. At the end of the course students should be able to reach a basic understanding and to critically discuss cases of private international law.
