(syllabus)
The course will be structured into three parts
I. The first part historicizes the evolutionary lines and the main theoretical and conceptual issues about the citizenship category in the context of the European history of the XIX-XXI centuries and of the contemporary historical, philosophical, political and legal thought;
II. The second part focuses above the identification and the description of the «active citizenship» organizations among public and private actors, in reference to any actions made with either the advocacy promoters or services managers and with particular regard to their role in the transformation of democratic regimes and of the welfare systems;
III. The third part of the course instead examines both the Italian and European context in which these organizations act and the practical experiences narrated by the active citizenship players.
