The objectives of the course

The course will lead the students to understand the relationship between
social structure and deviant behavior by providing them of theoretical
and nethodological instruments to analyze these phenomena.
It will be shown statistical and demographic data of different
types of deviant behavior.and finally the method of “empathy”
developed by the symbolic interactionism will be explained.

Content of the course

The course will focus on the theoretical and methodological lines in
order to analyze the processes of becoming deviant,the phenomenon of
social diversity and delinquency in the sociological framework.The themes of deviance will be analyzed at the intersection of the major transformations of our time,
the processes of socialization within the family the school system and the
peer-groups, The role of mass media, their influence and their representation of deviant behaviour will be emphasized
