Course program "More knowledge of the French Language"
For students of the Degree in Social Work and Sociology

The course objective is to acquire the full capacity of oral and written comprehension of French contemporary language. Progressively, steps will be the acquisition of writing and speaking skills of scientific texts.
The course has a modular structure. Each lesson will therefore be composed of a the listening and comprehension of language and the analysis of grammatical forms. We analyze the grammatical differences between the French and Italian illustrating some problems posed by translation.
It is therefore proposed to acquire a basic vocabulary through reading articles on social issues, taken from the main channels of information daily and weekly reading of selected pages of sociological thought and listening to lectures on sociological topics.
The analysis will focus on grammatical forms of phonetics, morphology and syntax:
• The alphabet (Voyelles nasales, semi-Voyelles, modification des sons),
• Les signes orthographiques (les accents, the cedilla, the Treme)
• La Sphère du nom (déterminants, quantification, qualification)
• Les mots invariables (prépositions, adverbes)
• La sphère du verbe (modes, temps, aspects, les auxiliaires)
• Les différents types de phrases (interrogative, négative, exclamative, mise en relief)
• Les relations logico-temporelles (expression du temps, de la cause, de la conséquence et du but, de l'opposition et de la concession, de la condition et de l'hypothèse, d'intensité et de comparaison).
