In the introductory part of the course, we will analyze the main patterns of ethnic relations as well as the explanatory theories of conflict and violence on ethnic grounds as proposed by social psychology, sociology, anthropology, and economics. In the monograph part, we will specifically analyze the cultural condition of foreigners in modern society and its portrayal in the global society. Methodological tools and handouts to analyze the relationship between xenophobia and new social media (so-called new media: blogs and social networks) will be also provided.
