With the support of some reference contributions in film theory and critics, from Ejzenštejn to Burch, we will explore the milestones that marked the consolidation of film as art, language and industry, from pre-cinema to classical Hollywood, through the experience of the 1920s avant-gardes, the introduction of sound and the emerge of models of 'studio system'.
