THEORETICAL PHILOSOPHY - L.M.
(objectives)
The course has two goals: 1) comparing the notion of ‘event’ (or ‘event-appropriation’, Ereignis) as looked into by Heidegger in the Beitrãge zur Philosophie (Vom Ereignis), written during the crucial years of the ‘turn’ (1936-1938), with the notions of ‘praxis’ and ‘process’ as re-formulated by Arendt through Heidegger’s interpretation of Aristotle’s metaphysics. 2) verifying the plausibility of these ontological perspective in the light of contemporary philosophical inquiries into the relation between ‘event’ and ‘process’.
