(syllabus)
The course will start from the origins and history of International Cooperation, and then will describe the birth and evolution of the Italian Development Cooperation, from the birth of NGOs to the 49/87 Law, until the recent reform, with the creation of an independent Agency; then we will analyze, in the light of international perspectives, the path of our governmental and non-governmental cooperation, considering in particular the evolution of the concept of development, and the new forms of international cooperation and partnership. We shall examine the last guidelines of the Foreign Ministry Dgcs on priority issues and countries, with a focus on communication, ownership and evaluation. A parallel workshop will be dedicated to the design (project cycle, logical framework, policy instruments), with specific reference to cultural cooperation and university projects.
