1) TO INTRODUCE STUDENTS TO THE MAIN SOCIOLOGICAL CONCEPTS, THEORIES AND MODELS. IN PARTICULAR, THE RELATION BETWEEN SOCIETY, SOCIAL SUBJECTS, TECHNOLOGY AND CAPITALISM IS THE FOCUS OF THE COURSE.
2) TO PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH KNOWLEDGE AND CONCEPTUAL TOOLS USEFUL TO ANALYZE CONTEMPORARY SOCIAL CHANGE.

- The course aims to introduce students to the basic concepts of sociology and the main sociological theories as tools for a critical analysis of social reality. A specific attention will be paid to the phenomenon of poverty, marginalization and social exclusion in contemporary societies.
- To provide students with knowledge and conceptual tools useful to analyze contemporary social change.
