The course will be divided into some units:
Introduction. 1. The Roman Empire between reforms and revolutions (284-410). 2. Christian movement from persecutions to the 'wedding' with the Empire. A law for the 'societas christianorum' 3. The Barbarians and the building of the roman-barbarian Kingdoms (change or continuity): Integrations problems and the different solutions 4. The Britannia case (from roman province to monarchy) 5. The legal culture : saving and transmitting, adapting and renewing.
