CATTARULLA CAMILLA
(syllabus)
Since the time of the Conquest and Colonization the theme of the encounter with the Other has given a series of representations of the new continent that have fixed images and stereotypes. The issue, that has become a canon of contemporary Spanish-American literature, will be analyzed through selected passages from the chronicles of the fifteenth and sixteenth century and through the fiction of the twentieth century.
