THIS COURSE STUDIES ECONOMIC AND FINANCIAL INTERDEPENDENCE IN OPEN ECONOMIES. IT ADDRESSES RELEVANT ISSUES AS THE DETERMINANTS OF INTERNATIONAL TRADE, TRADE POLICIES, THE GLOBALISATION OF FINANCIAL MARKETS, MACROECONOMIC EQUILIBRIUM (OR DISEQUILIBRIUM), THE INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS CYCLE, THE FINANCIAL MONETARY SYSTEM AND THE FUNCTIONING OF FOREIGN EXCHANGE MARKETS. THIS COURSE PROVIDES BASIC TOOLS FOR THE ANALYSIS OF THE MAIN THEORIES OF INTERNATIONAL TRADE AS WELL AS OF INTERNATIONAL MACROECONOMICS.
