The seminar will be held in Italian. However, a good knowledge of English is welcome, both for the legal helpdesk activities and for the analysis of cases. The focus of the seminar will be on the condition of migrant women with particular reference to the need to combine caring activities (e.g. children’s custody) and to balance those activities with the social identity of migrant women through labor. The topics of the frontal lessons will be: national and international legislation of women’s rights; analysis of cases (in particular ECHR, ECJ); historical, philosophical, political and economic relevance of the condition of women and of migrant women in particular in the contemporary era.

Course textbook The learning materials will be specified at the beginning of the seminar and will consist of scientific papers and/or book extracts as well as of court decisions.
Type of lessons Seminar: frontal lessons (24h) Legal helpdesk: collaboration in the activities of the legal helpdesk at the Città dell’Altra Economia (Largo Dino Frisullo, 00153 Roma), Monday afternoon (tot.: 6h).
Evaluation The evaluation will be based on a final paper and on participation.
