(objectives)
The development of a project on an urban scale (masterplan) with particular attention to the relationship between physical and social form. Among the topics discussed: use of space; temporality of movement of the inhabitants; open and built spaces; design of soil and infrastructure; places of social life, of living and working. In addition, they analyze the models of urban development and demographic, land use, traffic, food sustainability, social interactions and urban spaces, the economy and the metabolism of the city."

(syllabus)
Training objectives of the course ENABLE SUBSCRIBERS TO THE METHODS OF PLANNING AND URBAN MANAGEMENT AT THE URBAN SCALE, AND TO THE MULTI-DIMENSIONAL COMPLEXITY THAT IT ENTAILS. PROVIDING ADEQUATE METHODS AND TOOLS ABOUT DESIGN, LEGAL, FEASIBILITY ASSESSMENT AND CONCEPTUAL MODELING.
Prerequisites ENROLLMENT IN THE DEGREE OR ENROLLMENT TO THE SINGLE COURSE.
Course programme THE COURSE ADDRESSES THE THEMES OF THE PROJECT AT THE URBAN SCALE, WITHIN THE METHODS PROVIDED BY THE NEW PRG OF THE CITY OF ROME, WITH A FOCUS ON ISSUES SUCH AS: URBAN REDEVELOPMENT OF THE CITY, RE-USE OF THE DISPOSED PUBLIC PROPERTIES, THE IMPLEMENTATION IN THE PROJECT OF OBJECTIVES TO FACE CLIMATE CHANGE (REDUCTION OF GHG EMISSIONS, RESILIENCE TO EXTREME WEATHER EVENTS), FORMS OF COLLECTIVE PARTICIPATION IN THE VARIOUS PHASES OF THE PROJECT, THE USE OF INNOVATIVE LEGAL APPROACHES (URBAN EQUALIZATION, LOCAL MANAGEMENT OF DEVELOPMENT RIGHTS, THE DELIVERY OF PUBLIC SERVICES WITH THE USE OF PPP SCHEMES SUCH AS THE CONTRACT OF AVAILABILITY), THE INFRASTRUCTURES OF SUBURBAN AREAS AND THE INFRASTRUCTURAL EQUALIZATION AT THE URBAN SCALE. THE LABORATORY PROVIDES ADVANCED ELEMENTS OF URBAN PLANNING AT THE SCALE OF THE MUNICIPAL OPERATIVE PLANNING, WITH REFERENCE TO THE GENERAL SCALE.
Didactic Methods THEORETICAL CONTRIBUTIONS WILL BE PROVIDED WITH LECTURES, THE APPLIANCES THROUGH PROCEDURES OF LABORATORY. THE PROJECT WORK DEVELOPS IN GROUPS OF 2-3 COMPONENTS.
Learning assessment procedures IN ADDITION TO THE PREPARATION OF THE EXAMINATION DRAWINGS, INTERMEDIATE DELIVERIES ARE SCHEDULED IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE COURSE, AS SPECIFIC PROCESSING FOR THE VERIFICATION OF THE ELEMENTS FROM THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF THE DISCIPLINARY COMPLEMENTARY MODULES.
