THE COURSE WILL INTRODUCE BASIC CONCEPTS IN SOCIOLOGY OF INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION. AND FOCUS ON THE INCREASING IMPORTANCE OF MEDIA IN CONTEMPORARY SOCIETY.
THE FIRST PART OF THE COURSE WILL FOCUS IN PARTICULAR ON INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION, LOOKING AT INTERACTION RITUALS, FRAMING PRACTICES AND RULES OF CONVERSATION AS WELL AS THE USE OF DIGITAL MEDIA IN POLITICS, FOCUSING IN PARTICULAR ON SOCIAL CONSTRUCTIONS CONTINUOUSLY PRODUCED IN INTERACTIONS. THE SECOND PART FOCUSES ON THEORIES OF THE MEDIA
