(syllabus)
The first part of the course aims to describe the basic structures of contemporary Italian, providing an overview of the Italian phonology, morphology, syntax and lexicon, with particular attention to innovative phenomena and linguistic changes in place. The second part will be devoted to the study of the diffusion of Italian as a foreign language and its teaching, especially in university settings and institutes of Italian culture abroad.
