THE COURSE PROVIDES A SURVEY ON SOME FUNDAMENTAL TEXTS ABOUT ACTING IN 20TH CENTURY (ARTAUD, BRECHT, GROTOWSKI). SOME LESSONS WILL ANALYZE THE INTERCOURSE BETWEEN DRAMA AND THEATRE IN ANCIENT GREECE AND IN ELIZABETHAN ENGLAND.

English speaking students can study the english version of the most texts mentioned above (Artaud, Brecht, Aeschylus and, of course, Shakespeare). Guarino can be replaced with an english handbook (Wyckham is the more recommended) and Vacis-Grotowski, Awareness can be replaced with Grotowski, Towards a poor theatre.
