(syllabus)
We will start from the origins and history of International Cooperation, and then describe the birth and evolution of Italian Development Cooperation, the birth of NGOs with Law 49/87, until the recent reform, with the creation of an independent agency; then we will analyze the history of our governmental and non-governmental cooperation, taking into account in particular the evolution of the concept of development, With a glance to the new forms of cooperation and international partnership. We shall examine the latest guidelines of the DGCS of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on different issues and priority countries, with a focus on communication, ownership, valuation. A parallel workshop path will be dedicated to the projects (project cycle, logical framework, policy instruments), with specific reference to cooperation in the cultural heritage and to the university projects of Roma Tre University. In a concluding seminar, the students will discuss with the teachers and students of Rome III the project developed in the working groups.
