(syllabus)
Institutions of historical Italian linguistics. The course will address some fundamental aspects of the history of the Italian language: the passage from Latin to Italian in the Italo-Romance picture; the establishment of the Florentine basic literary language, the language issue; the changes in Italian, at various levels of analysis, over the centuries from the Middle Ages to the present.
