THE SECOND PART DEALS WITH: THE ORIGIN OF SCIENTIFIC SOCIETIES; COMMUNICATING SCIENCE: BOOKS, SCIENTIFIC ILLUSTRATION, SCIENTIFIC PERIODICALS. SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND PRODUCTION IN EARLY MODERN EUROPE (17TH AND 18TH C.): MACHINES, CHEMISTRY, METALLURGY.
