After an introduction, which will cover some key themes of aesthetics, the course will deal with the relationship between aesthetics and psychoanalysis, with particular reference to Freud's thinking.
The first part will focus on some key issues of the history of aesthetics, such as the birth of the term and discipline, the concept of imitation, art, beauty; the second one will address the issue of the relationship between psychoanalysis and art, with reference to Freud's thinking.
