STABILE FRANCESCA ROMANA
(syllabus)
The course aims to accompany students in the final critical reflection on the different educational experiences in the three and two academic years in the restoration field. To this end, culture of architectural heritage themes, that already have been addressed during the studies (conservation, restoration and reconstruction in archaeology (era corretto anche come lo aveva scritto lei: gli inglesi però lo scrivono così), monumental, urban and architectural contexts regionalist) are subject of analysis. Also, during the semester, the students are offered a possible confrontation with the theoretical research on architectural design in the sub-class of Architectural and urban design. Lectures and design exercises are carried out with the support of specialized external collaborations (officials of public institutions, businesses and restorers).

(syllabus)
The course considers the need for an inseparable relationship between architecture and theory; the establishment of a mutual need between architectural design, its concrete exercising, and the advancement of theoretical reflection; and the systemization of disciplinary knowledge that brings the iridescent variety of technological, spatial, material, and applicable innovation within a framework of critical awareness, disciplinary systemization and advancement of knowledge. The course will consist of three main stages: A. Theoretical Lessons on the 10 + 2 general topics B. Exemplary Readings. Writings about the History of Theory of architecture or short essays, of a few pages, provided as PDFs by the teacher. C. Thematic Insights in the classroom or in external locations. Lectures, seminars, readings of buildings.
