THE COURSE IS DIVEDED IN THREE PARTS. PART 1. AFTER A BRIEF INTRODUCTION TO THE TWO CENTRAL TERMS OF THE COURSE, MARKET AND JUSTICE, THE FIRST PART FOCUSES ON THE MAIN ARGUMENTS ON THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MARKET AND SOCIAL JUSTICE THAT HAVE BEEN DEVELOPED IN THE LITERATURE OF ETHICS AND ECONOMICS. SOME ATTENTION IS ALSO DEVOTED TO THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SOCIAL JUSTICE AND EFFICIENCY. PART 2. AFTER PRESENTING SOME OF THE MAIN QUESTIONS RELATED TO THE DEFINITION AND THE MEASUREMENT OF BOTH INEQUALITY AND POVERTY, THE SECOND PART APPLIES THE ARGUMENTS PRESENTED IN THE FIRST PART TO THE EVALUATION OF TODAY'S DIISTRIBUTION OF INCOME AND WEALTH. PART 3. IN THE LAST PART OF THE COURSE, STUDENTS WILL PRESENT CASE STUDIES RELATED TO SITUATIONS/POLICIES WHERE THE MARKET MODEL IS EITHER ACCEPTED OR IS REJECTED.
