(syllabus)
The course is based on class lectures which introduce the students to basic AC/DC electronics, to uncertainty estimation and to statistical analysis. Laboratory work complements the lectures and leads the students to acquire and to practice skills on measurements and uncertainties in the field of electronics and on statistical analysis of experimental data. The course consists of: - 28 h lessons - 7 weekly four-hour teamwork laboratory activities on: 1. Resistor measurements and data histogramming 2. Resistance measurement by the Voltmeter-Ammeter method 3. RC circuit 4. RLC circuit 5. Compensated Attenuator 6. Compensated Attenuator (time domain) 7. Transmission Line - 1 four-hour individual lab activity Recommended preparation: experimental physics preparation at least at the level of Esperimentazione di Fisica I currently is required Examinations: during the lesson period: - each teamwork lab activity is graded on a 0-5 scale, the final score is the mean value over all the 7 tests. 0 score is assigned if the lab work has not been completed. - the individual test is graded on a 0-20 scale - oral examination at the end of the course is graded on a 0-5 scale at the official dates and times for the examination - individual lab activity, graded on a 0-30 scale - oral examination, graded on a 0-30 scale
